CreaTech (AE)

CreatTech Logo (2010)The project, implemented between 2009 and 2011, focused on creativity, innovation, imagination, intercultural dialogue, and the meaningful integration of new technologies into education. It brought together organisations from Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Hungary, and Austria under the coordination of the Municipality of Rome. Among the partners were the Cyprus University of Technology, the Romanian Foundation for Quality Promotion, the Hungarian Secondary Vocational School “András Fáy”, the Greek educational authority DIEUTHINSI DEUTEROVATHMIAS EKPEDEUSIS (Egaleo/Athens – closed in 2016), and the European Initiative for Education (EBI/EIE) from Wiener Neustadt/Austria.

The partnership aimed to strengthen intercultural understanding, digital competencies, and social inclusion through innovative educational approaches. Special emphasis was placed on the use of technology to support communication, creativity, and access to learning opportunities for young people, adults, migrants, and disadvantaged groups. The project promoted European citizenship, tolerance, and lifelong learning through a transversal and inclusive educational approach.

Within the overall partnership, Peter Mazohl played a central role in the development of a creative and innovative method of technologically supported teaching and learning. Based on the experiences and reflections gained during the project, he developed essential concepts and methodological foundations for what later became known as “Technology Enhanced Teaching & Training”. This approach combined pedagogical innovation with the purposeful use of digital technologies to improve participation, motivation, and learning outcomes.

The method developed by Peter Mazohl was not only implemented and tested within the framework of adult education, but was also successfully transferred into school education contexts. The practical experiences and findings generated during the project significantly contributed to the further development of technology-supported educational methodologies and laid important foundations for later approaches in digital and blended learning environments.

Although many of the original online results and publications of the coordinating institution are no longer available, the methodological innovations and educational concepts developed during the project continued to influence both adult education and school education beyond the official project duration.
