With a career spanning more than five decades in education, research, and academic leadership, Peter Mazohl has established himself as a leading voice in technology-enhanced learning and modern teaching methodologies.
Education & Professional Background
Peter Mazohl graduated in science – majoring in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry – from the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. He completed professional training as an ICT teacher for both lower and upper secondary education (Secondary Levels I and II) and received formal certification in project management from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. He further pursued advanced training in graphics and design at the University College of Teacher Education and regularly attended a wide range of ICT-related professional development courses offered by the University College of Teacher Education in Eisenstadt.
Career & Functions
Peter Mazohl has worked as a teacher in high schools and vocational high schools, and has taught at various colleges and adult education institutions. For six years, he served as the technical head of new.media, a consulting and project management company specialising in web, multimedia, and video production.
Since 2015, he has been a lecturer at the Vienna University of Technology, and since 2017 a permanent member of the Institute of Analyses and Scientific Computing. Beyond his academic career, he has a foundational education in photography and is also active as an artist.
Organisational Roles
Peter Mazohl is currently the President of the European Initiative for Education (EBI/EIE) and the European Foundation for Quality in Blended Learning (EFQBL), both non-profit educational organisations. In 2024, he was elected Vice President of the DigiComPass association, a non-profit organisation promoting the Digital Competence Passport, originally developed within an Erasmus+ project of the University of Cyprus.
