DigiComPass (AE)

The DigComp Model as published by the European Commission and used in this project.

The DigiComPass project was developed to create a comprehensive course and recognition model for conveying digital competencies to adult learners across Europe.

Peter Mazohl contributed to the project as a specialist in Flipped Learning 3.0. He developed the training course concept, delivered the training of partner organisations in the field of multimedia learning content, and oversaw the implementation of the course, whilst the University of Cyprus was responsible for the technical realisation.

The project produced a recognition and course model for digital competencies, underpinned by a pedagogical framework based on Flipped Learning 3.0, alongside a quality enhancement framework for course creation, implementation, and evaluation. Pilot courses were developed covering the items of the DigComp 2.1 Citizens framework, and a recognition model was established defining the curriculum, training environment, assessment and grading, and consistent certification. The model was designed to align seamlessly with the Europass CV and to be practicable on a global scale.

Further outcomes included the development of a modern digital badge system based on open badges, a floating guide to support adaptation for future developments, and a transferability guide for school education. All courses were published as Open Educational Resources in several languages.

The project also led to the establishment of the DigiComPass Network in Europe, through the founding of the DigiComPass Foundation as a European association, with the aim of promoting the framework and ensuring its continued development, use, and dissemination.
