Peter Mazohl has built a diverse and wide-ranging professional career spanning teaching, academic research, entrepreneurship, and international educational leadership.


Teaching & Academic Career

For over four decades, Peter Mazohl dedicated himself to teaching at various schools and educational institutions. From 1978 to 2019, he taught at the Bundesgymnasium Babenbergerring in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, one of his longest and most formative professional engagements. In addition, he taught at various vocational high schools, colleges, and adult education institutions throughout his career. From 1990 to 2010 he was the head of the experimental branch “Informatikgymnasium” at this school.

From 2015 to 2017, he served as a lecturer at the Vienna University of Technology, and subsequently became a permanent member of the Institute for Analyses and Scientific Computing at the same institution, a role he held until 2023. Alongside his academic positions, he has acted as a trainer for European training courses organised by the European Initiative for Education (EIE/EBI).

Organisational Leadership & Memberships

Peter Mazohl is actively engaged in several European educational organisations in leadership roles:

  • President of the European Initiative for Education (EIE/EBI) – an international training and research association he founded
  • Co-founder and President of the European Foundation for Quality in Blended Learning (EFQBL) – a non-profit organisation dedicated to quality standards in Blended Learning
  • Vice President of DigiComPass – a non-profit organisation promoting the Digital Competence Passport, originally developed within an Erasmus+ project of the University of Cyprus, a role to which he was elected in 2024
